The Legacy of Cicero

 

Ciceros vison for the Republic was not simply the maintenance nor was it strightforward. Thanks to his eqestrain and cuntry background he had a bored outlook, less marred by self-interest than those of the patricians of Rome.

He was declared "righteous pagan" by the early Catholic Church because of that many of this works were deemed worthy of preservation. People like Saint Augustine and many others quoted liberally from his works “On The Republic” and “On The Laws,”
